School while also Acting

As the majority of you guys requested, we are going to write on how child actors balance school and acting.

Most child actors, unless they are told otherwise, will expect that the money they earn is theirs to keep and that it will be available to them when they come of age.

Unfortunately for child actors, there are only laws like the Coogan law in FOUR states in the country: California, New York, New Mexico, and Louisiana.

Work Hours for Minors in the Entertainment Industry are restricted. Minors in the entertainment industry may not work more than eight hours in a day [LC 1308.7 and 1392] or more than 48 hours in a week

Most don't attend a real school once things take off; they do independent study on set with a tutor. If there are multiple kids in a cast, they may have a set teacher who looks after all of the kids. Sometimes in a dual role as tutor and chaperone. When they are not scheduled for work that day, they go to regular school or home school.

The regular school teacher often resents the child actor making more money than they themselves do. This usually results in the teachers neglecting or throwing dirt on the child in the staff room. Although most child actors don’t care about it as they are mostly not there in class physically. But, some feel bad about themselves.

Now time for the most important part of our blog. Opinions of course.

It is very difficult to act and study at the same time. You can’t drop out of school if you are younger than 14, in India at least. So they have so much pressure. We personally are already struggling to write our blog, manage our youtube channel, do homework and study for our exams.

Also we feel bad when we hear of news where the teacher is jealous of the student earning more money than them, so they make the student feel very strong emotions about themselves.
