Digital Goodness

Today we are writing to you about our favourite tool. It can also be used for fun. If you still haven't figured it out, it is a computer.

A computer is a programmable device that stores, retrieves, and processes data. Today's computers are electronic devices that accept data (input), processes that data, produces output, and stores (storage) the results.

It has the ability to store, retrieve, and process data. You may already know that you can use a computer to type documents, send email, play games, and browse the Web. You can also use it to edit or create spreadsheets, presentations, and even videos.

Charles Babbage invented a machine called Analytical Engine, which is a model of today's computers. Since he was the first person who gave us the basic idea of computers, he is known as the 'father of computers'.

The Z1, originally created by Germany's Konrad Zuse in his parents' living room in 1936 to 1938 and is considered to be the first electro-mechanical binary programmable (modern) computer and really the first functional computer.

The first computer company was Electronic Controls Company and was founded in 1949 by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly, the same individuals who helped create the ENIAC computer.

IBM, a successful computer company still here to this day, was the first company to make affordable Computers. This made it practical to use Computers at home. That is where the term Personal Computer (PC) comes from.

Now time for the techy opinions.

We love PCs, we even have a pc gaming YouTube channel (weird segue I know, but link will be down along with the other links). So we are obviously thankful to IBM for making the home PCs a common thing.

The PC helps a lot of people. It gives well paying jobs that can be done from your home. Like this blog and our YouTube Channel. Humanity will use the PC for at least another 100 years.
