Book Review : Ancient Hindu Science:- Its Impact on the Ancient and Modern Worlds


  The following blog is a spoiler free  review  and the opinions expressed by the author(blog are solely their commentary of the book.

When you were young you may have heard of names of personalities of different countries, cultures and Backgrounds  like Leonardo Fibonacci , Democritus , Al-Khwarizmi , Copernicus etc. And wonder how great they would have been? How much do we owe to them?

How would the world be without them? But have you ever wondered , how many people like them are(or)were  in India? How many inventions or discoveries were made in India? 


  We may all have heard about the zero( the number which gives you nightmares during your exams) , decimal system but did you know that this is just a drop not the entire ocean.
Did you know the discoveries and inventions made by the individuals above were first proposed and practiced by the ancient Indians? That’s why we number 3 boys present you with the book ‘Ancient Hindu Science : its impact on the Ancient and Modern worlds’ . The original draft of the book was around 700 pages long but sadly the author could only publish it around 200 pages with an artificial 5 century Ad mark, but on the positive side author has confirmed that the rest of the book will be published in two volumes so keep your ears and eyes open if you come across any one of them(it’s also important to note the book is not a compendious). 

 


  About the Author

  The name of the man who has authored this treasure is Alok Kumar. He was born in the Holy city of Haridwar, Uttarakhand . When he was young his parents would tell him that his country had a great past. Unfortunately he couldn’t find it in his academic curricular and scientific literature, So he used to have an emotional dilemma of why such a great country didn’t contribute anything to science? This dilemma stuck with him till he landed up on the shores of the US where he had all the facilities to do his research and discover the vast contribution of his country in Science , Mathematics , Medicine , Astronomy and many more.
 

 What does the book contain?

As discussed before, the book contains  contributions by ancient Indians to science till 5 century Ad . Now you might be wondering what the book contains? Well to find out you'll have to buy it . But we can just provide you with one foot note , THAT IT’S ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS YOU’LL EVER READ! And contains the impact of this science on the Islamic world(Middle East), Europe and China.
